ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance and is the criteria for evaluating corporate behaviour and screening potential investments. Currently the financial industry is seeking to formalise its approach to ESG issues by creating ESG policies and regularly reporting on its stewardship and engagement activities.

Climate change is threatening the stability of our financial systems as severe weather events around the world disrupt supply chains and new regulations mean huge shifts in market dynamics. Together these events threaten to have severe financial repercussions on companies and their investors, lenders and insurers.

I work with organisations from a wide range of sectors to implement tools and frameworks for identifying and understanding climate risks. This includes executing climate risk stress tests and embedding climate risk into governance and financial decision-making.

Responsible investing is a key priority for both financial institutions and investors alike. Increasingly, wealth managers, private bankers and investment consultants are being asked to incorporate responsible investments into their clients’ investment preferences. These need to have the end goal of creating a positive social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.

But what is the best way to do this and show the impact the investments are having? I consult on responsible investments such as impact investment, which helps combat some of the world’s most urgent challenges in sectors such as sustainable agriculture and renewable energy.

I also support asset and wealth managers in placing socially responsible investments (SRI) and goal-based investments for clients.

Companies across the world are currently being called on to be cleaner and greener. How they tackle this challenge has never been more important, or more in the spotlight.

Sustainability strategy impacts a company’s bottom line and investment potential, so it’s important to get it right from the start. I assist banks and insurance companies in adjusting their strategy to align with the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) to define a net-zero roadmap. I have specific expertise in the automotive and oil and gas sectors.

I advise on discovery and financing solutions for green, social and biodiversity projects. My aim is to help investors and corporate customers identify green transition, sustainability or impact-oriented opportunities and link it with appropriate financing. Typical projects may include climate adaptation and energy transition, physical risk mitigation, place-based investments, community support and social impact opportunities.
